Product Description
This industrial linear skylight is engineered for large-span factories, warehouses and logistics buildings. It creates a continuous roof daylight zone while allowing project-specific integration of natural ventilation, heat release and optional smoke extraction equipment.
A linear industrial skylight is installed as a long rooflight assembly rather than a single small roof window. It can run along a roof ridge, roof valley or designated daylighting strip, bringing daylight deeper into production and storage areas.
The system can be fixed for daylighting only, or configured with electric opening units for natural ventilation. For projects with smoke and heat exhaust requirements, the opening device, controls, structure and certification route must be selected as a complete project-specific system.
| Product Type | Continuous linear industrial roof skylight, fixed or operable configuration |
|---|---|
| Typical Application | Factory workshops, warehouses, logistics centres, assembly plants and large-span industrial halls |
| Skylight Layout | Single-line, multi-line, ridge-aligned or roof-zone layout based on daylighting and structural planning |
| Glazing Options | FRP daylight panel, multiwall polycarbonate, solid polycarbonate or insulated glass |
| Frame Material | Aluminum alloy, galvanized steel or project-specific coated steel support structure |
| Opening Function | Fixed daylighting, manual ventilation, electric ventilation or project-specific opening system |
| Smoke Control Option | Optional smoke and heat exhaust configuration subject to code, product approval and project design |
| Roof Interface | Metal roof panel, standing seam roof, steel roof deck, concrete roof or custom curb system |
| Wind Resistance | Designed according to project location, building height, roof zone and local wind load requirements |
| Snow and Rain Load | Considered according to climate zone, roof drainage arrangement and structural design criteria |
| Waterproofing | Roof curb, flashing overlap, drainage path, continuous gaskets and compatible sealant system |
| Customization | Length, width, curb height, glazing material, opening modules, control system and roof connection details |
The design must account for suction and pressure from wind, glazing self-weight, snow accumulation where applicable and repeated opening loads for operable sections. Long linear skylight runs also require expansion allowances so that aluminum, steel and glazing materials can move without overstressing seals or fixings.
Skylight width, glazing type, roof location and internal ceiling geometry affect daylight distribution. For natural ventilation, high-level opening units should be coordinated with low-level fresh-air inlets so that warm air can rise and escape effectively.
- Review roof drawings, building use, daylight targets and ventilation requirements.
- Confirm opening layout, curb dimensions and roof structural connection points.
- Select frame sections, glazing material, support spacing and thermal expansion details.
- Fabricate curbs, frame modules, flashing components and glazing support profiles.
- Prepare fixed or operable modules with gaskets, hinges, actuators and control accessories.
- Inspect dimensions, sealing interfaces, drainage details and hardware operation.
- Package modules with project labels, installation drawings and roof connection instructions.
Bring overhead daylight into machining, assembly and fabrication zones where evenly distributed lighting improves visibility.
Create daylight strips over storage aisles and loading areas while supporting high-level heat release where required.
Use operable linear rooflights as part of a natural ventilation strategy to release warm air accumulating near the roof.
Replace aged FRP rooflight bands or outdated roof glazing with a new continuous daylighting system and improved waterproofing details.
- Verify roof steelwork, roof purlin spacing and curb support points before installation.
- Confirm roof pitch, drainage direction and flashing overlap before setting skylight modules.
- Install frame modules in sequence and maintain specified expansion gaps between long sections.
- Use approved fasteners, gaskets and sealants compatible with the roof material.
- Ensure glazing panels are supported and clamped according to specified edge-cover requirements.
- Test operable ventilation or smoke-control units, if included, before project handover.

- Clean glazing surfaces and remove roof debris from drainage channels regularly.
- Inspect flashing, gaskets, fasteners and frame joints for damage or aging.
- Check roof curb interfaces after severe wind, rain or snow events.
- Inspect polycarbonate or FRP panels for cracking, discoloration or loss of light transmission.
- Test hinges, actuators, opening units and control panels on a planned schedule.
- Maintain safe roof access procedures when inspecting or servicing the skylight system.
It is a continuous rooflight system installed in long strips on factory or warehouse roofs to provide daylight and optional natural ventilation.
It is suitable for factories, warehouses, logistics centres, workshops and other large-span industrial buildings.
Yes. Operable modules can release warm air at roof level when coordinated with low-level air inlets.
It can be configured for smoke and heat exhaust only when the complete project system meets applicable fire, control and approval requirements.
Options include FRP daylight panels, multiwall polycarbonate, solid polycarbonate and insulated glass.
Waterproofing relies on curb design, flashing overlap, drainage channels, gaskets, sealants and correct integration with the existing roof system.
Frame, glazing, fasteners and roof connections are selected according to local wind conditions, roof zone, building height and project structural requirements.
Yes. Continuous skylights are assembled from modules with expansion details to accommodate thermal movement over long roof runs.
Regular cleaning, drainage inspection, seal checks, roof-interface review and testing of all operable hardware are recommended.
Please provide roof type, roof pitch, required length and width, building location, wind or snow conditions, glazing choice and ventilation or smoke-control requirements.
